The organizing committee invites you to join us at the Ninth International Crustacean Congress (ICC 9) and looks forward to welcoming you to Washington, D.C., May 22-25, 2018, hosted by the Smithsonian Institution and the Renaissance Hotel. This will be the first time that an ICC has been held within the United States and the first time to be hosted by the Smithsonian Institution. The ICC 9 meeting is also co-hosted by The Crustacean Society and is dedicated to dissemination of all aspects of crustacean biology to local and international audiences.
Day 1 (Tuesday, May 22): Opening reception and registration at the hotel.
Day 2 (Wednesday, May 23): The meeting will be opened by ICC, TCS and SI officials, including opening remarks by Dr. Kirk Johnson, Director of the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, and will take place in the newly renovated Meyer auditorium of the Smithsonian’s beautiful Freer & Sackler Gallery of Art, just across the mall from the National Museum of Natural History building. The Handicap accessible entrance to the Freer & Sackler Gallery is on Independence Avenue (not Jefferson Drive - mall side). A Plenary Talk will be followed by an afternoon symposium and/or contributed talks.
Days 3 and 4 (Thursday and Friday, May 24 and 25): Will take place in the conference hotel, The Renaissance, and each will start with a Plenary Talk followed by several parallel symposia with invited and contributed papers on specific topics in crustacean biology.
